As we head into our last week of May, we continue to have a lot of information to share. Please review the following:
Musical Performance:
Come out and see a great show! This year our Musical Theatre students are putting on the production of James and the Giant Peach. Come and support our students and the Arts program. Tickets are on sale now on School Cash Online.
Athletic Banquet - Tuesday June 11th :
Students are invited to attend our annual celebration of athletic achievements on Tuesday June 11th from 5:30-7:30pm in the Main Caf. This event is for all students who have participation on a school sports team this school year. Tickets are included in this year's $30.00 Athletic Fee but a formal ticket is required to attend. Ticket pick-ups will run from May 27th - June 5th at lunch in the Hall of Fame. Anyone wishing to attend is encouraged to pick up a ticket in order to enjoy an evening of dinner and awards. Please note this is a semi-formal event. We hope to see you there!
Student Voice Day:
This past Tuesday morning we embarked on our first Student Voice Day. 50 students participated in sharing their voice on a number of topics including: Heath & Safety, Belonging & Inclusion, Teaching & Learning, Clubs/Activities, Accessibility & Facilities, and Courses and Programs. Student leaders and staff led the stations where we have received some great feedback on work that needs to be done as we head into next year.
GSA Conference:
On Tuesday, June 4th students have an opportunity to participate in a GSA Conference. This will be a day of empowerment, enlightenment, and joy. This year, we're thrilled to welcome Get Real Movement as our esteemed Keynote speakers, followed by immersive community connections with 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming organizations and GSA’s. Dive into a spectrum of empowering workshops and culminate the day with a celebration of students at the GSA Cabaret! If you’re student is interested in attending, please have them come to the main office or email us at the school pineridgess@ddsb.ca .
Grade 12 Exit Survey:
The Grade 12 Exit Survey will be open from May 22 to June 21, 2024. The survey links are provided below and can also be found on the students' myBlueprint Dashboard. The exit survey will also be posted on the Grade 12 Google classroom for all Grade 12 students to complete by June 21.

100 Strong Summer Academy:
100 Strong Summer Academy is a 4-week summer program designed to inspire Black male youth ages 11-14 years old. If you have a younger student in elementary school this may be a program to consider. This program has been designed to provide the attendees with the tools necessary to achieve their maximum potential both in education as well as life skills. The academy is held Monday to Friday from July 2 – July 26, 2024 @ UTSC (U of T Scarborough).
100 Strong Summer academy is geared towards Black male identifying students in grades 7 and 8. There is no cost to families and busing will be provided. Participants will be admitted on a first come first serve basis. See attached flyer.
