Happy Friday Pine Ridge Families;

Students have settled quickly into their new timetables and the start of semester 2 has gone smoothly.  There is lots happening in February including many Black History Month activities.  Our BSU students have been working hard to plan some events and activities throughout the month including ending the month with an assembly.  In the meantime, please see below for upcoming dates, events and important information items:

 

Guidance updates for Semester 2:

Semester 2 Timetable Changes for students in grades 9-12 open during the first week of semester 2.  Students are to submit a course change form on their grade google classroom.   All students must follow their current Semester 2 timetable until they are contacted by Guidance.  Course changes are for compulsory course requirements, prerequisite issues, incomplete timetables and level changes. Students must have a note from a parent/guardian approving all course change requests.

 

Course Selection Presentations for 2024-2025 will be on Monday February 12 for grades 9-11. 

Course selection for 2024-25 will open in myBlueprint on February 13 at 10am and close on March 6 at 4pm

 

Summer school registration opens in myBlueprint February 13.  Summer school details are available on the DCE website

Grade 11 Sports SHSM Course:

Are you passionate about sports and/or interested in a potential career in this field? The Sports SHSM course is a great opportunity to get valuable hands-on learning and experiences in Grade 11. This Specialist High Skills Major program offers students the unique chance to earn certifications and trainings related to the field of Sports while working towards their OSSD - All for FREE! The program is open to students going into Grade 11 next year and anyone interested can apply by selecting the course PAI3O1 in their Grade 11 Course Selections. Course selections open February 13th in My BluePrint so don't miss out on your chance to be a part of this amazing program/course! Questions? Athletic Council Volleyball Intramurals:

Athletic Council will be running Co-Ed Volleyball Intramurals starting mid-February at lunch time. All grades and skill levels are welcome to participate! At lunch on Tuesday, February 13th in the Gym there will be a Team Draft that anyone interested in participating should attend in order to secure a spot on a team. Questions? See Mr. Koumaris or Mrs. Baran in the Phys-Ed Office. Reminder that all participants need to have an open-gym permission form signed in order to play.

 

Senior Girls' Volleyball:

The Senior Girl's Volleyball season continues next week with 2 more league games and then we are off to PLAYOFFS. Our girls have been improving their skills each week and working hard to make the season successful. Mrs. Baran and Mrs. Bogart are proud of your efforts and perseverance each week. Wish us luck as we approach the final few weeks of our season! Go PUMAS!
